Hyderabad: Jagapathi Babu will replace Mohanlal in the new movie Salar directed by KGF director Prashant Neil. Shruti Haasan will play the lead role in the movie starring Prabhas. Mohanlal was considered for the role of Godfather of the character played by Prabhas. However, Jagapathi Babu was later considered for the role of Rajamannar. The producers had promised Mohanlal a record reward. Salar is the third multilingual film by hitmaker maker Hombale Films after the huge success of KGF Chapter 1. Madhu Guruswamy will play the villain in the film. Prashant Neil had earlier said that the word 'Salar' literally means 'Commander in Chief' and 'King's Right Hand'.
